Superbowl Tatting

I wanted to watch the Superbowl game today and tat but I didn't want to start anything that required a lot of concentration. While surfing the web one day I came across these adorable burp cloths and baby blankets that are hemstitched and ready to be edged from Ammee's Babies. It was the perfect project.

The burp cloth is really soft flannel about 8" x 18" and because they are already hemstitched, all I did was crochet around the edge once and then add a tatted chain (3-3-3) to finish it off.

I enjoyed the game and was able to finish a cute little project without having to do any untatting today!

  1. Great idea! I also tatted during the Super Bowl, but I had to keep an eye on my pattern!

  4. Thank you all for your comments. The burp cloth was a fun, easy project and something I've been wanting to work on anyway.

I found the Ammee's Babies site while I was searching for tatted edgings and in addition to the burp cloths, they have blankets and very adorable hats for infants. There are probably other sites that carry similar things but I was very happy with my order and just thought I'd mention it here.

    Have a great day!

  6. Tatting on a baby burp cloth! Wow! And that's going to get washed and washed... and maybe eventually ruined.... OMG, I only wish I could tat just to put on something for me, VBG! Love it! Thanks for visiting my blog, it is nice to have new visitors... I see you also enjoy quilting... I am hoping to try and create my first quilt design... as I said, hoping. Hugs.

  8. That is really very sweet. You know I had some tatting with beads on a white T-shirt that got machine washed and dried and it survived just fine. It wasn't as pretty as when it was first put on, but what article of clothing looks good as new after we wash them? Not too many unless it's jersey knit or something like that.

Anyway, those burp cloths are pretty cool.
    Happy Tatting,
